What the role entails
Do you enjoy spending your free time outdoors? Whether that is exploring local walking routes or visiting England's beautiful coastline? Or you have an interest in music or films, and you visit the cinema regularly to watch the latest movies. If so, apply and train in house to become our newest support worker where you will be supporting three gentlemen with similar interests.
By becoming our newest support worker, you can expect day trips out. The gentlemen we support love going for long walks, swimming sessions at their local pool, picnics in the park and going to have a boogie at Zumba! But we would like our support workers to bring creativity and innovative ideas into our teams.
Additionally, you role will be to encourage independence with their personal care, provide encouragement, prompts and support to complete tasks within the home and guidance to support with maintaining a healthy diet. This will include meal planning, and shopping for healthy food items.
There is no such thing as a 'typical' support worker. Colleagues range from school leavers who want a job that involves helping people, to those who want a change of career, to experienced support workers wanting to work for an organisation that truly places the people it supports at the heart of all it does, to those coming to the end of a completely different career who want to give something back to their community.
At Dimensions, we value a work / life balance so you will receive your rota at least 4 weeks in advance. Shifts patterns are 7:30am-2pm / 2pm -10pm with sleep-ins.
Apply online now and we will be in touch for a chat!
We recruit based on values so whilst previous experience is always welcome, it is certainly not essential as full specialist training and support will be provided. We just need to come with an open mind, shared values, and an eagerness to learn.
