Various permanent contracts available. This is a 7 day a week service so flexibility will be required to deliver service needs.
Full clean driving licence, experience of driving larger vehicles (vans etc).
Main base Newfield House, Vicarage Lane, Blackpool but will be required to work from other FCMS sites, driving vehicles to locations across Greater Manchester, Bury, HMR, Blackpool and West Lancashire.

Overview of Role
- To provide a professional and high-quality driving service for the Diagnostic Service
- To be able to follow strict procedures and protocols at all times
- To ensure the vehicle is in a safe working order and maintained to a high standard
- When necessary, to be able to carry out stocktake of medical equipment and consumables.
- To maintain stock levels in the vehicles and replenish when required, following the appropriate process.
- Reporting any discrepancies as soon as identified
- Ensuring full patient confidentiality at all times

- To undertake all relevant training consistent with the requirements of the post
- To be flexible in roles undertaken according to the business need
- To adhere to FCMS Policies and Procedures at all times.
Physical Effort
- Staff can often remain seated in the car for the majority of the working day
- Loading/unloading of medical equipment in and out of vehicle
Mental Effort
- Concentration is required driving vehicles on a daily basis to required locations
- Workload regularly reassessed and prioritised to meet required deadlines
- Concentration and safety required when throughout shift pattern
Emotional Effort
- Requirement for tact and diplomacy when dealing with patients, relatives, staff queries
- Supporting vulnerable patients on/off the vehicles
Working Conditions
- Lone working may be required at certain times
- The requirement for sitting for periods of time whilst driving
Information Governance
- Understand the importance of Information Governance, and maintain IG Toolkit on an annual basis
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive statistical information, ensuring legal and local requirements are met
Training and Support
- Identify own training needs and others and participate in relevant in-service education
- Ensure all mandatory training is undertaken and maintained
- The post holder will be expected to attend any necessary courses that provide relevant training
Other duties are required
This Job Description will be periodically reviewed in the light of developing work requirements. This is an evolving role and therefore, these duties are not exhaustive. The role may change via discussion between the post-holder line managers. The individual in post will be expected to contribute towards that revision.

This will require three forms of valid ID to be produced and verified. The onboarding process is also subject to an Occupational Health check, suitable professional references, and eligibility to work in the UK (with the requirement to provide relevant documentation as evidence).
